March for Life a success!!!!

In a crowd of 12,500 + people,  just to see everyone standing up for such an important matter of our time was such a blessing. This was my first year attending the Canadian National March for Life on May 13th, 2010. I can tell you that i will definitely go next year. Standing up for Life is such an important matter for me. There was tons of great speakers who had wonderful testimonies. Another great thing about this day was the blessed music ministry by David MacDonald. David’s Music can be found by clicking here Some other links that will be of interest to any pro lifer  are :  Campaign Life Coalition , Roxanne’s Law , and LifeSiteNews In closing, I am proud to say i am 100% pro life Pax, Joe Below is some pics from the May 13th, 2010 March for Life.

Prayer

Prayer, in my opinion is very important in all lives. I know that growing up as a Catholic that prayer was a huge part of my family. There are so many prayers i have gotten to know over the years. If  someone were to ask me the question, what are your favorite prayers? Well in all honesty, the prayers that reach heaven  And yes i do believe every prayer reaches heaven. But really, my favorite prayers would be the Rosary and Divine Mercy Chaplet. I know there have been many times where i wasn’t sure how to pray or even what to pray about.  My suggestion, If you ever find yourself in that situation, remember the following words “Turn your eyes upon Jesus, Look full in His wonderful face, And the things of earth will grow strangely dim, In the light of His glory and grace.” Your prayer time  can be as long or as short as you want it to be. I know for me, I usually take about 15 minutes to half hour out of my day to pray. Another thing to remember is to pray with your heart. God knows all and sees all.  Whatever is on your heart, tell God about it. You may think that something may seem silly, but even that something is very important to God.  God is your friend. Speak to him as you would any of your friends. In closing, I ask that you think about this verse from the bible. Matthew 26:40 says When he returned to his disciples, he found them asleep, he said to Peter, “So you could not keep watch with me for one hour?

Sacrament of Marriage – Part 2

by Joe Sales

Hey Everyone,

Sorry for the delay in posting. I have been really busy getting adjusted to married life. Since the wedding a lot of people have asked me, so how is married life? Well to be honest, It is going good to far. However with that being said, It is still kinda early to give an exact answer. I am truly blessed to have such an amazing wife with whom i love so very much.  The marriage ceremony went quite well. We also had a great reception afterwards.  If i were to ask some people who attended, what was your favorite part? They’d probably say the chocolate covered strawberries or the entertainment from some of the relatives from my wife’s family. I know for me personally, I loved every minute of it  from the ceremony to the reception to the final goodbyes. The day as a whole was a blessed experience and spirit filled day.  It was awesome connecting with family on both sides and reconnecting with old friends. I personally would like to thank everyone for their words of wisdom and their well wishes. Pax, Joe

Sacrament of Marriage

Hello everyone,

As most of you know that I will be getting married on April 17th, 2010. The wedding day is coming up rather quickly. I wanted to post a quick blog posting on the sacrament of marriage.

To me the Sacrament of Marriage is very serious business. It is the beginning of a new journey between a man and woman, which in turn will bring along many memorable moments. This is something that can’t be taken lightly.

A note for men, be men of honour!! Love and cherish your partner in life.

For both Men and Women, make sure you know your partner. Listen to them. An important and vital part in any relationship is COMMUNICATION!

Pax,

Joe

Holy Week 2010

by Joe Sales Wow, what an amazing week this has been so far for everyone around the world. Holy Week 2010 is finally here. It has been an incredible journey of faith, reflection, and soul searching. I really found myself during this Lenten season. My reason for saying that is because during the months leading up to this season, I had a lot of mixed feelings inside as to where i belonged in regards to church. I spent a lot of time praying, reflecting, and speaking to various Catholic friends both religious and laity. I am so very grateful for the many friendships I have.My Catholic friends have helped me to realize what is true and where i really belong. I am proud to be part of such a world wide fully grown family which consists of tons of people of all ages. I will go on record with stating the fact that I, Joe Sales am proud to be 100% Roman Catholic. Now back onto the topic of Holy Week, As most of us know Palm Sunday just recently took place, and it sets the stage for everything that is to come afterwards such as the Last Supper, betrayal, denial, and ultimately the death and Resurrection of Our Lord, Jesus Christ. For me personally, this Holy week seemed different than others in previous years. The difference is that this year, I have a closer relationship with God than I have allowed in previous years. For all who read this blog posting, I hope you are blessed. Please know that I am praying for all of you. May You all have a great Holy Week. + Joe

Importance of Paying Attention at Mass

by Joe Sales What is going on in your mind during Mass? Well personally for me, I have to admit that there have been times when trying to pay attention, I would be drifting off in the pew. Is it the music at Mass? The voice of the priest? who knows. I know that When I was in high school, those periods of drifting off in Mass had gone. The reason for that is because I started attending a program called Life Teen. Through the Lifeteen program, I learned a lot about the church, the Sacraments, and the Church’s teachings. and I also learned to be more attentive during Holy Mass. The many priests i have met during the various LT masses I have attended both locally and around the province of Ontario and beyond have helped me to be more attentive. Being Attentive during Holy Mass is extremely important for people of all ages. No matter if it’s a Lifeteen Mass or not. It is important to be attentive because you get to be blessed by the Word of God and to have the privilege to be loved by Jesus through the Eucharist. When we receive Jesus through the Eucharist, We are living tabernacles. So my advice, get plenty of sleep before Mass, even if it means a quick power nap. If you are able to pay attention in Mass, you will get all the benefits of attending and being attentive.
